Patna: A trolley contractor associated with Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) was fatally stabbed late on Thursday night in Patna City, police said, in what investigators suspect was the result of a longstanding personal dispute.
The deceased, identified as Sunny Kumar, was attacked on Chamdoria Fort Road while returning home. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but died during treatment on Friday morning.
Police officers from Chowk police station, along with Patna City SDPO Dr Gaurav Kumar, arrived at the scene following the incident. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation with support from a dog squad and forensic science experts. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed, and the victim’s family members have been questioned.
Initial inquiries suggest that the attack may be linked to an ongoing dispute between Sunny Kumar’s brother, Sandeep Kumar, and a local resident named Mootna. “All the accused have been identified and will be arrested soon,” Dr Gaurav Kumar said, adding that the investigation is being pursued thoroughly from all angles.
