Patna: Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) has issued an alert to job seekers after several fake advertisements offering jobs in the metro project were found circulating in Bihar. Officials said that gangs of fraudsters are targeting youth in the name of Patna Metro recruitment, using both online and offline methods.
According to PMRCL, these fake advertisements are being spread through social media, emails, SMS, WhatsApp links and even illegal websites. In many cases, people are being asked to pay money or share personal banking details in return for a promise of employment. The corporation said these activities are fraudulent and urged candidates to remain cautious.
In its statement, PMRCL clarified that no recruitment process is currently being carried out for Patna Metro. It also stressed that the corporation never asks for application fees, bank account information, debit or credit card details from candidates. No private agency, website or person has been authorised to collect applications on its behalf.
The metro authority said that all genuine information about jobs and recruitment is published only on the official website of the Bihar government’s Urban Development and Housing Department (https://state.bihar.gov.in/urban) and in reputed newspapers. It also appealed to young people not to respond to suspicious calls, messages or advertisements and not to share their personal details with unknown sources.
PMRCL added that it will not be responsible for any financial loss or damage caused by fake agencies or individuals. Officials have asked job seekers to remain alert and trust only official platforms for any updates about Patna Metro jobs.
