Patna: Mathura-Vrindavan witnessed a remarkable display of devotion on Friday as thousands of followers accompanied Premanand Maharaj on his daily Padyatra. Beginning at the Shri Hit Keli Kunj Ashram, the saint walked slowly through the streets, immersed in spiritual tunes, greeting devotees with folded hands and simple humility that deeply resonated with the crowd.
The procession extended to Radha Tila, where the chants of “Radhe-Radhe” echoed along the route, creating an atmosphere charged with reverence and spiritual energy. While Maharaj Ji walked on the outward journey, he returned to the ashram in his Defender vehicle, marking a slight departure from the usual ritual.
The Padyatra, more than a routine religious practice, has grown into a celebration of faith that nurtures the spiritual landscape of Vrindavan. The devoted throngs, who line the streets daily, are testament to the saint’s enduring popularity and the profound connection between him and his followers.
Amidst this spiritual fervour, Saint Rajendra Das Maharaj of the Maluk Peeth visited Premanand Maharaj earlier this week, addressing concerns about the latter’s health circulating on social media. In a gesture of respect and reverence, Premanand Maharaj stood to bow before the visiting saint, performed aarti, washed his feet, and offered flowers. Accompanying him were Bhaktmali Bihari Das and Gita scholar Gyananand Maharaj, who also paid homage.
