Patna: The holy month of Ramadan began in Bihar on Thursday, with the first fast observed by Muslims across the state. Ramadan, considered a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, and good deeds, holds deep significance in Islam, with believers observing fasts from dawn to sunset.
Fasting in Ramadan starts with the pre-dawn meal known as Sehri. Observing Sehri is considered essential, as missing it is believed to deprive the faithful of certain spiritual rewards. Muslims make the intention to fast before dawn and then abstain from food and drink until sunset.
