Patna: The District Court in Patna on Wednesday heard multiple bail-related applications in the ongoing coaching institute controversy linked to Khan Global Studies, while proceedings involving key accused were adjourned for further arguments.
Bail Hearing of Khan Sir’s Guards Deferred
The bail plea of two security guards associated with Khan Sir, remained inconclusive after the court did not pass an order during Wednesday’s hearing.
The prosecution is scheduled to present its arguments on Thursday, June 11. Until then, both guards will remain in judicial custody.
Case Diary and Evidence Placed Before Court
During the hearing, police submitted an updated case diary along with the criminal records of the accused before the court.
The District Public Prosecutor was subsequently given time to present arguments on behalf of the state, which are expected to be taken up in the next hearing.
Questions Raised Over Weapon Issue
The prosecution raised concerns regarding a weapon reportedly carried by guard Pradeep Kumar, stating that it had been issued for personal security and not for use in public or during alleged incidents under investigation.
Officials argued that the circumstances of its use require detailed scrutiny and further investigation, which is likely to remain a key point of contention in the next hearing.
Interim Relief for Khan Sir
In a separate development in the same case, the court had on Tuesday granted interim relief to Faisal Khan alias Khan Sir in his anticipatory bail plea.
The court directed that no coercive action be taken against him until the next hearing and asked him to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The anticipatory bail matter is scheduled for further hearing on June 20.
Roshan Anand Seeks Bail from District Judge
Meanwhile, Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Academy, has moved the District and Sessions Court seeking bail after his earlier plea was rejected by a Judicial Magistrate First Class court.
He was arrested on June 3 and has been in judicial custody since then.
Background of the Case
The case stems from an incident on the night of June 2 at the Khan Global Studies coaching centre in Musallahpur Hat, where allegations of attack, vandalism and firing were reported.
Following the incident, police registered a case and made several arrests. The matter has since drawn attention due to the involvement of multiple individuals linked to coaching institutes in Patna.
