Bhagalpur/Patna: Samrat Choudhary will visit Bhagalpur on Sunday in what is being described as his first visit to the district after becoming chief minister. The visit is expected to last for around three hours and 15 minutes and will include inspections, administrative meetings and participation in a BJP programme.
According to the schedule, Choudhary will arrive by a state helicopter at the helipad set up at the airport ground at 1.50pm. From there, he will travel by road to Vikramshila Setu.
Inspection of bridge and riverfront projects
The chief minister is scheduled to spend a brief period at Vikramshila Setu, where he will inspect the under-construction parallel bridge and review the alignment of the Ganga Path (Marine Drive) project.
He will then proceed to the district collectorate, where he is expected to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development schemes.
Administrative review meeting
At the collectorate, Choudhary will hold a review meeting with district officials at the Review Building to assess the progress of government programmes and projects.
After the meeting, he will travel to Purnamal Bajoria Teachers’ Training College in Narga.
BJP training camp on itinerary
The chief minister is also scheduled to attend a BJP training camp at the college. He is expected to remain there for more than an hour before returning to the airport ground at 4.25pm and departing for Patna.
The BJP has planned a reception for Choudhary at the airport, with party leaders and workers expected to be present. Local legislators, elected representatives and party office-bearers are also likely to attend the training programme.
Security measures and traffic restrictions
Authorities have tightened security arrangements for the visit. All identified venues linked to the programme have been declared temporary red zones and no-drone zones.
Officials said normal movement from Zeromile towards the urban area could remain affected for nearly four hours during the visit.
Civic preparations completed
Ahead of the visit, the Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation carried out a special cleanliness drive along the routes scheduled for the chief minister’s movement.
Branches of trees considered hazardous were pruned, while teams from the municipal corporation and the forest department began removing dry trees along the airport road late on Saturday night.
