Patna: The Bihar minister for youth, employment and skill development, Sanjay Singh, visited an Industrial Training Institute in Patna on Wednesday and directed officials to strengthen efforts to connect trained students with employment opportunities.
During an inspection of the Industrial Training Institute Digha Ghat, Singh reviewed the institute’s training system, workshops, classrooms and other facilities available to trainees. The minister also interacted with students, listening to their experiences, concerns and suggestions regarding the training programmes.

Singh held discussions with institute officials and trainers and offered suggestions aimed at improving the quality of vocational training. He said ITI institutions play an important role in equipping young people with technical skills and preparing them for the job market.
The minister directed the institute to ensure regular monitoring of trainees who have been placed in jobs so their progress and work status can be assessed in a timely manner. He also emphasised the need to increase awareness and make special efforts to improve enrolment in trades that currently have low numbers of candidates.

Calling for improvements in training standards, discipline and infrastructure, Singh asked the institute’s management to strengthen its systems so that more young people can access quality technical education and employment opportunities.
During the visit, the minister also planted a tree on the institute campus. Officials, trainers and other staff members were present during the inspection.
