Patna: In the skies between Patna and Delhi, politics briefly met passion as BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy traded the debating floor for a cockpit. The Chhapra MP, known for his aviation skills as much as his political acumen, co-piloted a commercial flight on Saturday — and among the passengers was none other than Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Chouhan, visibly moved by the experience, later shared his delight on social media, describing the journey as “unforgettable.” “Rajiv ji, you have won my heart today,” he wrote, recounting how Rudy, calm and composed, engaged passengers with cheerful commentary throughout the flight.
The minister’s post painted a vivid picture of Rudy’s in-flight narration: “Today, clouds have settled around Patna, and it has been raining continuously since yesterday. We are beginning our journey to Delhi amidst clouds and light rain. On the way, we will pass over Varanasi, see Prayagraj on the left and Lucknow on the right, and glide toward Delhi by following the Ganga and Yamuna. If the skies are clear, you might even catch the glow of Noida’s skyline.”

Passengers, charmed by Rudy’s poetic delivery and his passion for flying, broke into applause when he invited them to celebrate a safe and pleasant journey together. Chouhan described that moment as “warm, genuine, and unforgettable.”
A qualified commercial pilot and instructor, Rajiv Pratap Rudy stands out in Indian politics for his unusual blend of technical expertise and grassroots connection. Between parliamentary sessions and constituency visits, he often finds solace above the clouds, where the turbulence of politics gives way to the serenity of flight.
For passengers that day, and for Shivraj Singh Chouhan in particular, the trip was not just a flight between two cities—it was a glimpse of how public life, when driven by passion, can sometimes soar far beyond the ordinary.
