Siwan: The district administration has announced a special traffic management plan for June 16 in view of the scheduled visit of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to Siwan. Several routes across the district will witness temporary restrictions and diversions to facilitate VVIP movement and manage expected crowds.

According to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police’s office, the special traffic arrangements will be implemented in Siwan city and surrounding areas. Residents and commuters have been urged to follow the designated routes and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.

Diversions for Heavy Vehicles

Heavy and large vehicles travelling from Malmaliya Chowk towards Siwan, Mairwa and Gopalganj will be diverted through Afrad Chowk, Maharajganj, Daraunda, Pachrukhi and Chhotpur.

Similarly, heavy vehicles travelling towards Malmaliya from Siwan, Mairwa and Gopalganj will be required to use the route via Paswan Chowk, Chhotpur Bypass, Pachrukhi, Daraunda, Maharajganj and Afrad Chowk.

Separate Routes for Light Vehicles

The administration has also designated alternative routes for four-wheelers, pickup vans and other light vehicles.

Vehicles travelling towards Siwan, Mairwa and Gopalganj from Tarwara Chowk will be directed through the Pachrukhi-Hariharpur-Lalgarh route and the Maharajganj-Siwan road via Hardiya Mor.

For the return journey, vehicles must travel from Hardiya Mor through the Siwan-Maharajganj road and the Pachrukhi-Hariharpur-Lalgarh route before reaching Tarwara Chowk.

No Entry on Key Stretch Before Event

Authorities have imposed a complete restriction on the movement of private vehicles between Tarwara Chowk and Vaishakhi Mor beginning four hours before the scheduled meeting.

During this period, the route will remain open only for vehicles carrying attendees to the event.

Parking arrangements for buses bringing participants have been made along the Siwan-Tarwara-Basantpur main road. Drivers have been instructed to remain with their vehicles to facilitate traffic management if required.

Entry Through Dam Gate Restricted

The administration has permitted small vehicles approaching from Tarwara and Afrad to enter through the Dam Gate only until two hours before the commencement of the programme.

After the specified deadline, movement on the route will be regulated as per security requirements.

Alternative Access Via Papaur Road

Vehicles approaching from the Vaishakhi Mor side will be allowed to reach the venue through the Papaur road near Jeen Baba Sthan.

Buses transporting members of the Jivika programme will use the PCC road connecting the Siwan-Tarwara-Basantpur main road to the venue.

Motorcycle riders attending the programme have also been directed to use the Papaur route near Jeen Baba Sthan.

Advisory for Commuters

The administration has advised residents and travellers heading towards Siwan, Mairwa, Gopalganj, Tarwara, Pachrukhi and Maharajganj to review the diversion plan before beginning their journey.

Officials said advance planning would help commuters avoid congestion and minimise inconvenience during the Chief Minister’s visit.
