Patna: St Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, organised an interactive session on leadership and career growth for its second- and third-year students on Saturday. The session, themed “Leadership and Career Growth: Managing People, Pressure and Deadlines”, featured Sridhar Arnala, vice-president of The Hindu Group, as the keynote speaker.
The event was attended by rector Fr Joseph Sebastian SJ, principal Fr Martin Poras SJ, vice-principal Fr Sherry George SJ, along with faculty members and students. Arnala was joined by his colleagues Rony Gupta and Kumar Nitin from The Hindu Group.
Drawing from his professional journey, Arnala spoke about the importance of resilience, adaptability and people management in shaping effective leadership. “Leadership is not about titles, but about responsibility and the ability to inspire and empower others. Managing pressure and deadlines is an art every young professional must learn to grow successfully,” he told students, adding that being a good human being is at the core of being a good leader.
The session, moderated by Priya Manish Kumar, assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communication, encouraged active participation, with students asking questions on conflict management, teamwork and handling high-pressure situations.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students motivated and better prepared to meet future career challenges.
