Patna: As Bihar gears up for the 2025 assembly elections, political claims and counterclaims are filling the air. Among them, a bold assertion from Tej Pratap Yadav — leader of the newly formed Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) and candidate from Mahua — has caught attention across the state’s political spectrum.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav said his party is poised to secure between 10 and 15 seats in the upcoming polls. “We will win 10–15 seats. The public sentiment is in our favour. The wind has changed,” he said, projecting confidence that his party would make a surprising entry into Bihar’s political landscape.
When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of electoral malpractice and system irregularities, Yadav dismissed the remarks as inconsequential. “These statements are of no use. The public knows everything. Such statements won’t change the wind,” he said.
Yadav suggested that voters are now prioritising “trust and change-based politics” over rhetoric, a shift he believes will translate into significant support for his party.
Alongside his electoral predictions, Yadav has also made headlines for raising concerns about his personal safety. “My enemies can even have me killed… now everyone seems like an enemy,” he said, without naming anyone. His security concerns have since added another layer of intrigue to his election campaign, ensuring his remarks remain in the media spotlight.
