Patna: As election activity intensifies across Bihar, celebrations erupted in Patna on Sunday to mark the 36th birthday of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Leader of the Opposition and the Grand Alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate.
Supporters gathered outside Yadav’s residence from early morning, carrying bands, sweets and bouquets to wish their leader. Many danced on the streets, threw currency notes in the air and distributed sweets among the crowd. Some presented Yadav with a shawl and flowers before he left for campaign rallies later in the day.
Images shared on social media also showed a more intimate celebration with family members. Yadav’s sister, Misa Bharti, posted photographs on Facebook, writing: “Happy birthday and blessings, brother. May you always be healthy, happy, and successful. May your hard work, dedication, and truthfulness take you to new heights.”
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has also organised a celebration at its state office, where a 36-pound cake — one pound for each year — is set to be cut. As part of the occasion, notebooks and pencils will be distributed to underprivileged children.
Posters congratulating Yadav and referring to him as the “future Chief Minister of Bihar” have been put up outside the party office by state general secretary Arun Kumar and Srijan Swaraj.
