Muzaffarpur: A serious security breach occurred in Muzaffarpur on Saturday when a young man suddenly ran towards Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav and lay down at his feet near a helicopter.
Tejashwi had earlier unveiled a statue of B R Ambedkar at Kanti block office and addressed a public gathering before preparing to leave for Purnia. As he stood near the helicopter, the unidentified man – later named as Sariful Islam – broke through security and fell to the ground before Tejaswi in an unexpected act that left the leader visibly startled.
Security personnel, who were stationed at some distance, rushed in moments later and quickly escorted Tejaswi back into a protective cover. Islam was immediately detained.
