Patna: Bihar’s political climate intensified on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepared to visit Gaya and Begusarai to launch a series of infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 13,000 crore. Ahead of his arrival, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the prime minister of spreading “lies and gimmicks” and demanded accountability for more than a decade of rule.
Yadav, leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) shared a video on social media, saying: “Today, a shop of lies and slogans will be set up in Gaya. Prime Minister ji, with his boneless tongue, will create a Himalaya of lies, but the justice-loving people of Bihar will break these mountains like Dashrath Manjhi. Give the account of your 11 years and the NDA’s 20 years.”

He also posted a song critical of PM Modi, urging him to listen before “raining slogans” in Gaya, which he said reflected the sentiments of ordinary Biharis.
#TejashwiYadav #Bihar #RJD pic.twitter.com/R9PMH7ySDB

RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav also joined the attack, alleging that Modi’s visit to Gaya was akin to offering “pind daan” (funerary rites) for Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and his Janata Dal (United). He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government of denying Bihar special state status, marginalising the poor and backward, and pushing the state into “poverty and crime”.
Modi, however, is set to showcase major development initiatives during his tour. In Bodh Gaya, he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects including a power plant in Buxar, a six-lane bridge over the Ganga at Begusarai, and new train services such as the Amrit Bharat Express and the Buddhist Circuit Train.
