Araria: A young teacher from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead while travelling to school in Bihar’s Araria district on Monday morning. The incident has caused shock in the region, as the victim, 28-year-old Shivani Kumari, had only recently joined the school and had been engaged just a few days earlier. She was preparing for her wedding when she was attacked.
The shooting took place around 8.30am when Shivani was riding her scooter towards Khabda Kanhaili Middle School, where she worked as a contract teacher. According to a farmer, Sudhir Yadav, who witnessed the attack, two unidentified men approached her on a motorcycle and fired at her from close range. Shivani collapsed immediately on the road after being hit.
Locals rushed to her aid, and Yadav, along with other villagers, took her to Araria Sadar Hospital. However, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
