Sheikhpura: A young woman named Saro Devi was shot dead on Sunday night in Gunhes village of Bihar’s Sheikhpura district. She was talking on the phone in her room when an unknown person entered and shot her. Her baby, just 25 days old, was lying beside her and was found safe.
Saro Devi’s husband, Congress Manjhi, works in Bengaluru. After the murder, police reached the spot, took the body for post-mortem, and later handed it over to the family. Police say they don’t know yet who killed her or why. A case will be registered based on the family’s written complaint.
The forensic team also visited the house and collected clues. Police have taken the woman’s mobile phone to check her call records. Some locals suspect a love affair could be behind the murder, but police are still investigating.
