Patna: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rain in 13 districts of Bihar on Friday, warning of intermittent heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next two days. The remaining districts are expected to see normal weather conditions but with rising temperatures and increased humidity.
According to the Meteorological Center, winds may blow at speeds of up to 40 km/h in the alert districts. Residents have been advised to remain cautious as lightning activity is also expected during this period.
Mixed Weather Across Districts
In the last 24 hours, rainfall was recorded in Jamui, while Patna saw bright sunshine. Although light clouds appeared in the afternoon, the capital remained dry. Supaul and Nalanda also witnessed sunny conditions, which increased the discomfort caused by heat.
Reason Behind the Weather Change
Meteorologists said that a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is currently active and influencing Bihar’s weather. This system is expected to persist for the next 24 to 48 hours, leading to rainfall in several parts of the state. Intermittent showers are also likely to continue during the Navratri period.
Forecast for Coming Days
In the next few days, South and Central Bihar districts are expected to receive intermittent rainfall, while North Bihar may mostly see cloudy skies with low chances of rain. Temperatures are likely to rise slightly, with the maximum increasing by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, intensifying the humid conditions.
Patna Weather Outlook
The state capital is forecast to remain cloudy on Friday, with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall at some locations. Strong winds are also likely during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may be around 25 to 26 degrees Celsius.
