
Bhabua: A young man was shot near the Education Department office in Bhabua town of Bihar on Tuesday morning. The incident happened in broad daylight on NH-219, right in front of a government building. Two men on a bike fired at the victim and quickly ran away from the spot.
The injured man has been identified as Abhishek Kumar, 22, a resident of Jaika Gali in Bhabua. He was returning home after dropping a friend at the Akhlaspur bus stop when he was attacked. The bullet hit him in the hand. He was taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment and later referred to the trauma centre at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi for better care.
During his treatment at Sadar Hospital, Abhishek gave a statement to the police and named two suspects. The police have started searching for the accused and are raiding possible locations. While the exact reason behind the attack is not clear, the police suspect it may be due to personal rivalry.
The shooting in front of a government office has created fear among local residents. People are shocked that such an incident happened openly during the day. The police have promised strict action and said they are working to catch the attackers as soon as possible.
