Bihar boosts public service capacity with Mission Karmayogi partnership

Patna: A significant step towards strengthening governance in Bihar was marked on October 7, 2024, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the Prime Minister’s Mission Karmayogi initiative. The agreement, involving the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Karmayogi Bharat (SPV), and the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), aims to enhance the skills of government officials, transitioning them from a rule-based to a role-based approach.

The partnership will leverage the iGOT Karmayogi platform, a digital learning hub designed to empower civil servants with advanced administrative and governance skills.

Empowering Bihar’s officials through e-learning

The platform offers a wide variety of courses tailored to improve governance capabilities. To ensure accessibility, 25 course modules have been transcribed into Hindi by BIPARD, complete with voice-overs and subtitles, enabling greater participation among officials across the state.

Driving long-term skill development

The MoU signifies the start of a long-term collaboration between CBC, Karmayogi Bharat, and the Bihar government. The initiative aims to encourage continuous learning among civil servants, ensuring improved service delivery and better governance for Bihar’s citizens.

The partnership underscores the government’s commitment to creating a more efficient, accountable, and skilled workforce. Through Mission Karmayogi, Bihar’s public servants will gain access to digital training programs that align with the broader goal of enhancing governance standards across India.
