Patna: A major overhaul is imminent in all government offices across Bihar, aimed at curbing corruption. Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena announced the implementation of a new system that promises to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in government processes. To ensure smooth transition, all personnel will undergo mandatory technical training.
The e-office system, as it is called, will streamline government operations and minimize bureaucratic delays. The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving service delivery to the public.
During a meeting held at the Chief Secretariat, the civil list of Secretariat Service Cadre employees was also released. The Chief Secretary highlighted the significance of this document, which provides crucial information about employee qualifications, addresses, and service records, facilitating better decision-making within the government.
Further emphasizing accountability, the Chief Secretary reiterated the state government’s commitment to widespread implementation of the biometric attendance system. This measure is expected to improve discipline and enhance workplace efficiency.
The meeting also discussed the importance of training on the Integrated Government Online Training Platform under Mission Karmayogi, a state-of-the-art initiative for skill development and capacity building of government personnel. The Chief Secretary urged all employees to actively participate in this program to enhance their skills and contribute effectively to public service.
Amrit Lal Meena, prior to his appointment as Chief Secretary, served as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department in Bihar. He has also held key positions in the Urban Development and Housing Department and the Panchayati Raj Department.
