Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister cum Road Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has announced that the state government aims to reduce travel time from any district of Bihar to Patna to just 3 to 3.5 hours by 2027-28. Currently, the average travel time is around five hours. To achieve this, the government is expediting road widening and new construction projects across the state.
On Monday, Vijay Kumar Sinha held a meeting with officials of the Road Construction Department from Motihari and Dhaka divisions. The progress of various construction works was reviewed, and strict directives were issued to ensure all projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He shared details of this meeting on social media.
The Deputy CM emphasized that under the leadership of the double-engine government, Bihar is progressing rapidly. Various infrastructure projects have been reviewed, and suggestions from MLAs and MPs are being prioritized. He assured that all promises made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the Pragati Yatra would be fulfilled on time. The state aims to rank among the top in the country in terms of road infrastructure. Additionally, the construction of railway overbridges has been accelerated to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.
Sinha highlighted that better road connectivity will enhance Bihar’s transport system, creating new opportunities for industries and employment. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making Bihar a developed state and achieving this ambitious goal through planned infrastructure improvements.
