Patna: The Bihar Legislature’s budget session for 2025 is set to commence on February 28 and will conclude on March 28, spanning 21 sittings. Given its proximity to the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections later this year, the session is expected to be politically significant.
Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will open the session with an address outlining the achievements and plans of the NDA government.
Ahead of the session, Patna District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Avakash Kumar held a joint meeting with magistrates and police officers at the Vidhan Sabha premises to review security arrangements.
Dr Singh emphasized the need for stringent law and order measures, announcing a three-tier security system. This includes an expanded CCTV surveillance network, with eight additional cameras installed inside the assembly premises, and the deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs).
Security personnel, including magistrates and police officers, have been instructed to be at their designated posts by 9 AM on February 28 and arrive an hour early on subsequent days. They are required to remain on duty until legislative proceedings for the day conclude.
Strict access control will be enforced, with unauthorized entry into the assembly premises strictly prohibited. Magistrates and police officers on duty will be held accountable for any breaches. Only authorized personnel and vehicles with valid entry passes will be allowed into the Secretariat, Vidhan Sabha, and Vidhan Parishad compounds.
A control room will be set up within the assembly building, where senior officers will coordinate with magistrates and police teams to ensure compliance with security protocols. Certain areas within and around the assembly will be designated as restricted zones under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code during the session.
The District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police have urged all officers to remain vigilant, proactive, and committed to preventing any security threats during the session.
