Truck Rams Into Auto In Bhojpur Killing Four Returning From Mundan Ceremony

Ara/ Patna: Four people were killed and several others injured in a road accident in Bhojpur district early on Thursday morning after a speeding truck collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers returning from a Mundan ceremony.

The crash occurred in the Shahpur police station area when the auto-rickshaw, which had run out of fuel near a petrol pump, was turning towards the station when it was struck by the truck. The impact of the collision destroyed the vehicle, killing four people, including three women, on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Ajit Kumar from Vaishali district, Suhagi Devi from Chhawasia village in Vaishali, and Suhagya Devi and Siratiya Devi from Daudpur in Patna’s Shahpur area.

According to police officials, the group had been returning from Gupta Dham in Kaimur district after attending the Mundan ceremony of a child from Daudpur village in Patna. Several injured passengers were taken to a nearby hospital, with some reported to be in critical condition.

Shahpur police have launched an investigation, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The incident has raised fresh concerns over road safety in Bihar, with local residents calling for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and improved safety measures.
