Tej Pratap’s Holi Hangover Lands Cop in ‘Line Duty’, Patna Scooty Ride Costs Rs 3,000

Patna: The Holi revelry of RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has left behind more than just vibrant memories—it has triggered disciplinary action and a financial penalty. The Bihar police constable who was caught in a colourful conundrum after being made to dance (‘Thumka’ included) at Tej Pratap’s Holi bash has now been removed from his security duty and reassigned to ‘Line Duty’ by Patna police.
Tej Pratap, known for his theatrical Holi celebrations, had gone full throttle this year. From summoning a police constable for an impromptu jig to setting off on a helmet-less scooty ride through the streets of Patna in search of ‘Paltu Chacha’—a moniker he reserves for Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar—his festival frenzy made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Adding to the chaos, a photojournalist found himself quite literally stripped of his dignity when his clothes were torn in the middle of Tej Pratap’s Holi hysteria.
Patna police, however, were in no mood to let the post-Holi hangover slide. Tej Pratap has been reportedly slapped with a Rs 3,000 fine for his two-wheeled misadventure, with officials citing a lack of a helmet, insurance, and a valid pollution control certificate for the scooty.
Meanwhile, the former health minister seems unperturbed by the controversy. In a post on X this morning, he brushed off the episode with a cryptic message about ‘colouring the world with love and truth’—a statement as vague as his traffic rulebook.
For now, Tej Pratap’s Holi antics may have faded, but their after-effects continue to linger—like the stubborn traces of gulal on an unsuspecting passer-by.
