The incident occurred on the night of March 14 when ASI Santosh Kumar Singh reached Nandlalpura to intervene in a dispute. However, the family of the main accused, Ranveer Yadav, attacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to a private hospital in Patna, where he succumbed to his injuries on the morning of March 15.

Following a statement from Constable Deepak Kumar, an FIR was lodged against Ranjeet Kumar, Ranveer Yadav, Raju Kumar, Guddu Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Rekha Devi, Sarita Devi, and Mausam Kumari. So far, Ranveer Yadav, his wife Mausam Kumari, Vikas Kumar, and Guddu Kumar have been arrested.

On Sunday evening, Ranveer, Mausam, and Vikas were sent to jail. The police are conducting raids to apprehend the remaining accused.

On Saturday, while taking Guddu Kumar to arrest other accused, the police vehicle collided with a tree near Bakarpur. Taking advantage of the situation, Guddu snatched a rifle from a policeman and aimed it at the police team. In self-defense, the police shot him in the leg. Guddu is currently receiving treatment at Sadar Hospital under police supervision.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) expressed deep sorrow over ASI Santosh Kumar Singh’s death, stating that he had gone to resolve a dispute but was brutally attacked. He assured that strict action would be taken against all those involved in the murder.

“The police have arrested four named accused, and raids are ongoing to nab the remaining suspects. No one will be spared. This case will serve as a warning to criminals who dare to attack law enforcement officers,” the DIG said.
