Patna: The results of the second edition of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 were announced at midnight on Friday, with 24 candidates securing a perfect 100 percentile. Among them, Abdullah emerged as Bihar’s top scorer, securing a 99.99 percentile, though no candidate from the state reached the 100 percentile mark.
The list of top scorers includes 22 boys and just two girls — Devdutta Majhi from West Bengal and Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh. The highest scorers represent a wide geographical spread, with the largest contingent — seven — hailing from Rajasthan. Other top-performing states include Telangana (three students), Maharashtra (three), Uttar Pradesh (three), Gujarat (two), West Bengal (two), Delhi (two), Andhra Pradesh (one), and Karnataka (one).
Of the 24 toppers, 21 are from the general category. The remaining three top scores include V. Ajay Reddy from Telangana (EWS), Daksh from Delhi (OBC), and Shreyas Lohia from Uttar Pradesh (SC).
This year’s JEE Main results show a trend in the increasing number of top scorers. In 2024, a total of 56 candidates scored a perfect 100 percentile across both sessions of the exam. This marks a rise from 43 in 2023 and 24 in 2022.
The final answer key was released earlier on Friday and is available for download on the official JEE Main website. The All India Rank list has been prepared based on the combined performance of candidates in both sessions of the examination.
A large number of students from Bihar have qualified for the JEE Advanced, the next step towards gaining admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
