Full Tank, No Panic: Fuel Prices Flat Across Bihar

Patna : Fuel prices across Bihar remained unchanged on Saturday, providing some respite to consumers amid continued fluctuations in the international crude oil market.

In Patna, petrol is retailing at Rs 107.24 per litre, with diesel priced at Rs 94.04 per litre. The rate of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) also remains steady, selling at Rs 81.90 per kg. No revisions were announced by oil marketing companies on the day, mirroring the stable pricing pattern observed throughout the past week.

While global oil prices have witnessed minor shifts, domestic fuel rates have largely held steady due to the government’s balancing mechanisms and tax structures. Officials suggest that unless there is a significant international disruption, no major hikes are expected in the immediate future.

Local transport operators have welcomed the consistency in rates, saying it helps manage running costs amid broader inflationary pressures. “We’re already dealing with high maintenance and loan repayments. At least fuel has stayed stable this week,” said Suraj Kumar, a taxi driver in Patna.

However, concerns remain about long-term sustainability. Experts argue that even stable high prices can weigh heavily on household budgets and the transportation sector.

As things stand, Bihar motorists can expect no surprises at the pump — at least for now.
