Patna: The Bihar government has sanctioned administrative approval for road and bridge construction and renovation works worth approximately Rs 130 crore across 10 districts, Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin announced on Thursday.
The projects, approved under the State Plan head, include 11 schemes aimed at boosting road connectivity and infrastructure in various regions. “This move marks another step towards a developed Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,” Naveen said, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure.
Key projects include the construction of a Bailey bridge and approach road over the Barnar river in Jamui district, widening and strengthening works on roads in Nalanda, Hajipur, Ara, and Muzaffarpur, and drain construction along the Runnisaidpur-Katra-Quetsa stretch. Additional works will take place in Supaul, Samastipur, Saran, Purnia, and East Champaran.
In Saran, a high-level RCC bridge will be constructed, while Purnia will see the widening of a key stretch connecting to NH-107. East Champaran’s project involves pavement and drainage works on a road maintained under the Output and Performance-Based Road Maintenance Contract (OPRMC).
“The goal is to ensure smooth and quality roads that provide easier access to education, healthcare, markets, and administrative services,” Naveen said. “The department is moving rapidly to implement the city’s road rejuvenation plans.”
