Nalanda: A sudden fire broke out in a parked Suzuki car in Nalanda’s Nursarai area, completely destroying it within minutes. The incident happened near the block office under Nursarai police station. The flames spread so fast that no one dared to go near the car to try and put them out.
Eyewitnesses said the driver had parked the car and left for some work when the fire started. Luckily, no one was inside the car at the time. Thick smoke and heat created panic among people in the area, and calls were made to the police and fire brigade.
Police and fire officials reached the spot about half an hour later, but by then the car was already burnt to ashes. Nursarai SHO Rajneesh Kumar Singh said the cause of the fire is being investigated and the car owner will be questioned.
Locals said the key was still in the car and guessed that a short circuit might have started the fire. They also complained that the fire brigade took too long to arrive, which could have saved the vehicle if they had reached sooner.
