Patna: The iconic Boring Road crossing in Patna is set to undergo a significant transformation, with plans for a 500-square-foot green wall and a 15-foot solar-powered palm tree, city officials announced on Wednesday.
The wall behind the Shiva temple at the busy intersection has been earmarked for the green installation, which will feature around 3,000 plants irrigated through an automated drip system. Beautification work will extend across 3,000 square feet of the surrounding area, including the renovation of the existing fountain. The police booth at the crossing will also be relocated as part of the redesign.

Project designer Pratyush said the initiative aims to highlight the crossing’s iconic status while providing residents and visitors with a visually appealing urban space. “We are giving the area a gardening theme. The green wall will offer a lush view behind the temple and enhance the overall beauty of the crossing,” he said.
The solar palm tree, a first for Patna, will stand 15 feet tall and incorporate special lighting. Additionally, a board reading “I Love Chakachak Patna” and facade lights will be installed throughout the area. Officials hope to complete the project within one month.
