Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited several temples in Patna today to mark the auspicious occasion of Maha Ashtami during Navratri, offering prayers for the state’s peace and prosperity.
The chief minister began his day at the Shitla Mata Temple in Agamkuan, before proceeding to the Badi Patan devi and Chhoti Patan devi temples in Patna city. Priests performed traditional rituals and pujas, during which Kumar prayed for the well-being and progress of the state.

Later, he visited the Shri Shri Badi Devi and Shri Shri Dalhatta Devi temples in Marufganj, continuing his prayers to Goddess Durga. The Maroofganj Marwari Seva Samiti presented the chief minister with a shawl, a turban, and a commemorative memento.
The ceremonies were attended by several senior officials, including Kumar’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretaries Anupam Kumar and Kumar Ravi, Special Officer Gopal Singh, Patna Division Commissioner Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Thiyagarajan S.M., and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, alongside local organisers and devotees.
