Patna: A massive fire broke out late Monday evening in a plastic warehouse near Faisad Ki Maidan at Noon Ki Chauraha in Patna, destroying property worth lakhs of rupees. The blaze spread rapidly, engulfing the entire warehouse within minutes.
Upon receiving information, police personnel from the Chowk Police Station and multiple fire department teams rushed to the spot. Five large and two small fire engines were deployed and worked continuously for nearly three hours to bring the fire under control.
Spark from High-Tension Wire Caused the Fire
According to local residents, the fire began when a spark from a high-tension electric wire fell onto the warehouse roof. The plastic materials inside quickly caught fire, leading to massive flames that soon spread across the premises. Panic spread through nearby residential areas as people rushed to move valuables, gas cylinders, and children to safety. As a precautionary measure, the power supply to the area was cut off.
Firefighters Worked for Hours
Patna City Fire Station Officer Gaya Singh said the fire was devastating and required seven fire engines to contain it. “The flames were intense, but our teams managed to control the situation after hours of effort. A full estimate of the damage will be made once the site cools down completely,” he said.
No Casualties Reported
Chowk Police Station In-charge Manjeet Thakur confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. Police have cordoned off the area and begun an investigation to determine the exact cause and extent of the damage.
The incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety in densely populated urban areas and the risks posed by high-tension power lines running close to commercial establishments.
