Patna: With Saraswati Puja and Republic Day approaching, the Masaurhi police have stepped up preparations to ensure peace and order in the town. A peace committee meeting was held on Saturday at the Lahsuna police station premises under the chairmanship of the station house officer (SHO). Members of puja committees and local representatives attended the meeting, where the police appealed to people to celebrate the festival with devotion, restraint and mutual harmony.
During the meeting, the SHO clearly stated that the use of DJ music during Saraswati Puja is completely banned. This restriction applies to puja pandals, processions and idol immersion activities. He warned that any violation of this order would lead to legal action. The police said the decision was taken to prevent noise pollution and avoid situations that could disturb public peace.
The SHO also informed the committees that organising Saraswati Puja without official permission would not be allowed. All puja committees have been directed to obtain the necessary licence in advance. Committees that fail to do so will face action under the law. In addition, the carrying of sharp weapons during processions has been strictly prohibited, as it poses a serious risk to public safety.
Police officials warned anti-social elements against attempting to create trouble during the festival and said strict action would be taken against anyone found disturbing the peaceful atmosphere. Citizens were requested to immediately inform the police if they notice any suspicious activity, so that timely action can be taken. The police stressed that public cooperation is essential to ensure that Saraswati Puja is celebrated safely and peacefully.
