Patna: Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, has announced changes in its academic administration following the retirement of its dean of examinations, Prof Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, who superannuates on January 31.
According to an official statement issued on Saturday by IGIMS medical superintendent Dr Manish Mandal, Dr (Prof) P.K. Dubey, head of the department of anaesthesia, has been given additional charge as dean of examinations with effect from February 1, 2026.
As part of the reshuffle, Dr Sanjay Kumar Suman, head of the radiology department, has been appointed controller of examinations from the same date. Meanwhile, Dr Neeru Goel, head of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, has been assigned the additional charge of associate dean (academic) following Prof Dubey’s move to the examination portfolio.
The institute said the appointments were made to ensure continuity in academic and examination-related work at IGIMS, one of Bihar’s premier medical institutions.
