Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has signed a Rs 498 crore agreement for the construction of an international-standard cricket complex in Patna, marking one of the largest investments in sports infrastructure in the state’s history.
The proposed International Cricket Complex will be built at Rajendra Nagar and is expected to span 25–30 acres. The project was formally announced at a press conference on Friday, where the BCA confirmed that construction firm SIDPL has been awarded the contract. A memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of senior association officials, representatives of the construction agency and project management consultant Skyline Infraworld.
According to the BCA, the complex will include a main stadium, a modern pavilion, practice wickets, indoor training facilities, players’ dressing rooms, a media centre and administrative buildings. Residential accommodation for nearly 300 players is also planned, alongside 12 to 16 pitches designed to support training, fitness programmes and match preparation.
Construction will be carried out in phases, with the first phase focusing on the main playing arena and essential facilities.

The BCA president, Harsh Vardhan, said the project reflected the association’s long-term vision for developing cricket in Bihar. He said the international-standard facilities would strengthen the state’s ability to host major tournaments while prioritising residential and training infrastructure to support player development.
The BCA secretary, Ziaul Arfeen, described the complex as a foundation for the future of cricket in the state. He said the phased construction would be completed within the stipulated timeline and would allow Bihar’s players to prepare for national and international competition without leaving the state.
The association said the project was intended to support the long-term growth of cricket in Bihar and improve the state’s capacity to host national and international matches, while offering local players access to advanced training and competitive facilities.
Senior BCA officials present at the press conference included treasurer Abhishek Nandan, chief executive Manish Raj, general managers Ajit Kumar Pandey (anti-corruption) and Neeraj Singh (administration), project director and engineer Rakesh Kumar, and chartered accountant Brij Bhushan Singh. Representatives from SIDPL and Skyline Infraworld also attended.
