Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has issued an ultimatum to revenue service officers who have gone on mass leave, giving them until Monday to return to work or face strict action.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Sinha emphasised that the government remained committed to addressing the officers’ demands sympathetically, while also maintaining departmental discipline.
Three committees, tasked with reviewing the roles, powers, and responsibilities of revenue officers, are expected to submit detailed reports to the government. Future decisions regarding the officers’ demands will be made based on these reports.
Sinha noted that a large number of circle officers have already resumed duties. He announced that on Monday, Principal Secretary CK Anil and Secretary Jay Singh will conduct a video conference to review attendance across all districts, with further action to follow.
The Deputy Chief Minister instructed officers to prioritise key initiatives, including the Agristack Mega Campaign, E-Measurement Mega Campaign, and Revenue Mega Campaign.
In addition, Sinha appealed to lower-level staff not to be swayed by misinformation, assuring that officers who perform well will be considered for salary increments. Principal Secretary CK Anil highlighted that the Land Reforms Public Welfare Dialogue had notably strengthened public trust in the department. Secretary Jay Singh was also present at the press briefing.
