Patna: Muzaffarpur’s industrial sector is set for a major expansion after the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) approved four new manufacturing units in the Motipur industrial region. The projects, cleared by BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee, will bring an investment of Rs 39.42 crore and are expected to generate employment opportunities while strengthening industrial activity in North Bihar.

The approved units will be established in the Dumaria and Bariarpur industrial areas under Motipur, covering sectors such as water bottling, furniture manufacturing, electrical equipment and mineral water production.

Approval Granted at Patna Meeting

The proposals received clearance during a meeting of BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee held in Patna. Officials said the projects would help accelerate industrial development in the region and attract further investments to Muzaffarpur’s industrial belt.

The approvals are part of the state’s broader effort to expand manufacturing infrastructure and create jobs through industrial investment.

The company plans to invest approximately Rs 14.75 crore in establishing its production facility. Officials expect the project to support local employment while also benefiting small businesses linked to the supply chain.

Electrical Equipment Factory Planned in Bariarpur

Another major project approved by BIADA is an electrical device manufacturing unit in the Bariarpur Industrial Area.

The company has been allotted 21,780 square feet of land and will invest around Rs 6.89 crore in the facility. The unit is expected to contribute to the growth of electrical equipment manufacturing in the region.

Mineral Water Unit Also Gets Clearance

A separate mineral water manufacturing company has received approval to establish a unit in the Dumaria Industrial Area.

The company has been allotted 5,000 square feet of land and plans to invest about Rs 1.89 crore in the project. The facility is expected to support local economic activity and create additional employment opportunities.

Bihar Clears Industrial Projects Worth Rs 627.83 Crore

The meeting was chaired by Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Industries Department and Managing Director of BIADA.

Across Bihar, a total of 30 industrial units were allotted 26.59 acres of land during the meeting. According to officials, the approvals have paved the way for investments worth Rs 627.83 crore and are expected to generate employment for around 3,329 people across the state.
