Patna: The International School of Management (ISM), Patna, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with a unique blend of cultural tradition, environmental awareness and social responsibility through a special ‘Vrikshbandhan’ event on its campus.

As part of the initiative, students and faculty members tied Rakhis to trees and pledged to protect nature. They also tied Rakhis to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans, expressing gratitude for their service and contribution to the security of the nation.

Students Take Pledge to Protect Trees

The Vrikshbandhan initiative used the symbolism of Raksha Bandhan to promote the message of environmental conservation.

Students and faculty tied Rakhis to trees and took a pledge to protect them and contribute towards preserving nature and natural resources. The activity was aimed at encouraging students to understand their responsibility towards the environment.

The programme also highlighted how cultural festivals can be used to spread awareness about social and environmental issues.

Rakhis Tied to SSB Jawans

The celebration also included a special interaction with SSB personnel. Students and members of the institute tied Rakhis to SSB jawans and conveyed their appreciation for their courage, discipline and service.

The interaction created an atmosphere of warmth and mutual respect, with students expressing their gratitude towards the security personnel.

The initiative sought to broaden the message of Raksha Bandhan beyond familial relationships by highlighting values of protection, responsibility and gratitude towards those who serve society and the country.

Students Celebrate Raksha Bandhan on Campus

The festival brought together students, faculty members and institute officials in a festive atmosphere. Students participated in activities highlighting the values associated with Raksha Bandhan, including care, trust, protection and mutual respect.

The event also provided students with an opportunity to engage with Indian cultural traditions while reflecting on their responsibilities towards society and the environment.

Culture, Environment and Social Responsibility

The Vrikshbandhan programme reflected ISM’s emphasis on combining academic development with cultural, social and environmental values.

The celebration concluded with messages encouraging environmental protection, respect for those serving the nation, social harmony and a sense of collective responsibility.

The initiative turned the traditional symbolism of Raksha Bandhan into a broader message of protecting nature, respecting service and strengthening social bonds.
