Patna: Campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election has entered its final phase, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensifying its outreach ahead of polling on July 30. BJP National President Nitin Nabin arrived in Patna on Saturday morning to review the party’s preparations and campaign strategy.
He was received at Patna Airport by senior BJP leaders, including state president Sanjay Saraogi. The visit comes days before voting and is being viewed as an important part of the party’s final election push.
Focus on Final-Phase Campaign Strategy
According to party sources, Nitin Nabin is expected to hold meetings with BJP leaders and organisational functionaries to assess preparations for the by-election. Discussions are likely to cover booth management, voter outreach, measures to improve voter turnout, and campaign activities planned for the final days before polling.
The Bankipur Assembly constituency has traditionally been associated with Nitin Nabin, who represented the seat for multiple terms before moving to the Lok Sabha. The by-election was necessitated after the seat fell vacant following his election to Parliament.
For the BJP, retaining the constituency is considered politically significant as it seeks to maintain its electoral presence in the region.
Multi-Cornered Contest in Bankipur
The by-election has witnessed an active contest among major political parties. The BJP has fielded Neeraj Kumar Sinha as its candidate.
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has been campaigning extensively, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has nominated Rekha Gupta, who is also conducting an intensive public outreach campaign.
With multiple candidates actively canvassing for votes, political parties have stepped up their organisational efforts ahead of polling.
Review of Government’s 100-Day Performance
Sources said Nitin Nabin is also expected to review the performance of government departments as the Samrat Choudhary-led Bihar government completes its first 100 days in office.
Party leaders are likely to discuss strategies for communicating the government’s initiatives and achievements to voters during the election campaign.

Star Campaigners Join BJP’s Outreach
The BJP has deployed several senior leaders and campaigners to support its candidate. BJP MP and Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari, along with actor-singer Pawan Singh, addressed public meetings and participated in roadshows across different parts of the constituency.
Speaking during the campaign, Manoj Tiwari said the NDA government was focused on development in Bihar and appealed to voters to support the BJP candidate.
Pawan Singh said the BJP’s politics was centred on development, national interest, and public service, adding that the party’s victory would contribute to the constituency’s infrastructure and overall development.
