Patna: Bihar witnessed massive voter participation in the final phase of the 2025 Assembly elections on Tuesday. By 5 pm, a turnout of 67.14% was recorded, showing the strong enthusiasm of voters across the state. The last phase of voting covered 122 assembly seats across 20 districts, deciding the fate of 1302 candidates, including 12 ministers.
From early morning, people started gathering at polling stations to cast their votes. Long queues could be seen outside booths, with men, women, and even elderly citizens waiting patiently for their turn. Many first-time voters also came out in large numbers, expressing excitement about taking part in the democratic process. The atmosphere at polling centres was charged with energy and hope, as people spoke about the need for development, better governance, and jobs.
To ensure that voting took place smoothly, the Election Commission made elaborate arrangements across all polling stations. Security was tightened, with police and central paramilitary forces deployed in large numbers. Drones and CCTV cameras were used to monitor sensitive areas, and special measures were taken to prevent any disturbance. Polling officials said the process remained peaceful in most areas, with only minor technical issues reported at a few booths.
The Election Commission also ensured that basic facilities like drinking water, shade, and medical assistance were available for voters at polling centres. Officials worked to make the experience easy and safe for everyone, especially senior citizens and differently-abled voters.
This final phase of polling is expected to play a key role in shaping Bihar’s next government. The state has seen an intense campaign over the past few weeks, with leaders from all major parties addressing rallies and promising change. With over two-thirds of voters turning out to make their voices heard, political observers believe the high participation reflects a strong desire for progress and good governance.
