Patna: Political activity in Bihar has intensified after Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan indicated that discussions among alliance partners on government formation are nearly complete.
Paswan said that “almost everything” within the coalition has been finalised and that only a formal announcement remains. His remarks have triggered fresh speculation in political circles about the shape and leadership of the next government.
He also emphasised that the experience and guidance of Nitish Kumar would be taken into consideration during the formation process, describing him as a seasoned leader whose suggestions would be respected.
The statement is being viewed as an attempt to project unity within the alliance, suggesting that efforts are under way to maintain a balance among partners in the new government.
However, uncertainty continues over who will be named chief minister. Paswan said a decision on the leadership would be taken soon, but did not indicate which party would secure the post.
The delay in announcing the chief ministerial candidate has kept political observers and party workers on edge, with the final decision expected to shape the state’s political direction.
Following Paswan’s remarks, opposition parties have stepped up their criticism, questioning the coalition’s internal dynamics and strategy. Leaders from rival parties have raised concerns over the delay, while the ruling alliance has defended the process as a sign of consensus-building.
Sources suggest that an official announcement regarding government formation could be made soon, with negotiations entering their final stages. Once the chief ministerial face is decided, the swearing-in process is expected to follow.
For now, attention remains focused on the alliance’s next move, with Bihar awaiting clarity on its new leadership.
