Patna: The Bihar government has taken a major step to help students from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) find good jobs both in India and abroad. After a departmental review, it was found that many ITI students face problems getting jobs even after completing their training. To solve this issue, the government has started a special initiative that will not only improve training but also create better job opportunities for students. Under this plan, ITI students from Bihar will also get a chance to receive additional training in other states to match industry standards.
According to officials, this initiative is being taken on the instructions of the state government following an appeal by the departmental secretary. The secretary has requested other states to help by offering training facilities to Bihar’s ITI students. Several special cells have already been formed in the state to look into students’ employment issues. The government believes that there is a high demand for skilled ITI workers both within the country and abroad, and with proper guidance and coordination, Bihar’s students can make the most of these opportunities.
Placement cells will now play a key role in connecting students with better companies. Until now, most ITI graduates in Bihar looked forward to getting jobs in the railways, but with fewer railway vacancies in recent years, it has become difficult for them to find stable work. The new system aims to change this by helping students get jobs in private industries, manufacturing units, and technical companies in India and overseas. The government hopes that this effort will boost confidence among ITI students and reduce unemployment in the state.
The department has also decided to maintain proper records of all ITI graduates and their job placements. Officials admitted that, until now, there was no clear data about where students were employed after finishing their courses. Starting from the next academic session, a record will be kept of every student’s placement. This will help the government track how well training programmes are working and what improvements are needed. The government believes that this step will not only help students build successful careers but also make Bihar a leading source of skilled workers for industries across the country and beyond.
