Patna: The Government of Bihar has signed an agreement with Corporate Infotech Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL) for the implementation of its e-governance platform, BiharOne, a project valued at Rs 87 crore aimed at integrating public services through a single digital system.
The agreement was formalised at BELTRON Bhawan in Patna. Officials said the platform is expected to go live by July this year.
BiharOne is designed as a unified service delivery system intended to bring together a range of government services, including RTPS and non-RTPS offerings, under a single digital interface. The initiative seeks to streamline access to welfare schemes and administrative services by reducing the need for citizens to approach multiple departments.
As part of the project, the Bihar Common Social Registry will be integrated with departmental databases to enable consolidated access to citizen information. The government has said this is intended to reduce duplication in documentation and processing across services.
The platform will also include AI-based chatbots in Hindi, English and local languages to assist users in navigating services and applications.
Officials involved in the project say it follows earlier discussions at the India AI Summit, after which work on implementation began. A development centre has also been established in Patna as part of the rollout, which authorities describe as an effort to expand the state’s digital infrastructure and technical capacity.
The initiative is also expected to generate employment opportunities in areas such as software development, data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Once operational, BiharOne will consolidate several government services into a single platform, allowing users to complete applications and access certificates online. The government has said the system is intended to improve efficiency, transparency and service delivery across departments.
