Patna: The Bihar government has taken a big step to promote industries in Munger district. In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state approved the acquisition of 466 acres of land for expanding the industrial area. For this project, a budget of about Rs 125 crore has been set aside. The move is expected to give Munger new opportunities in industrial development, similar to other parts of the state.
Officials said that land will be acquired from several areas of the district. This includes 24.99 acres in Asarganj, 81.18 acres in Dhuria Arazi, 190.09 acres in Berain, 6.01 acres in Kharbhatua, 18.66 acres in Jorari and 30.39 acres in Badarkha. Together, this adds up to 466.49 acres. The expansion is aimed at creating more space for industries, which can bring investment, jobs and economic growth to Munger.
Along with industrial development, the cabinet also approved a plan to set up a new food store and training centre in Bihar. The purpose of this centre will be to train officers and employees working in food supply departments. They will be given proper guidance on how to manage food storage, distribution and government schemes effectively. Training sessions will be organised regularly so that the system becomes more efficient.
The state has approved Rs 4.65 crore every year for running this centre. It will function under the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation. Officials believe that this training centre will improve the way food supply schemes are carried out, ensuring that ration and essential goods reach people on time. With these two decisions — expanding industries in Munger and starting a new training centre — the government aims to strengthen both economic growth and public services in the state.
