Patna: The Bihar State Pollution Control Board has set up an environmental awareness stall at Gandhi Maidan in Patna as part of Bihar Diwas celebrations on March 22.
Located within the pavilion of the department of environment, forest and climate change, the stall is aimed at promoting awareness on key environmental issues among the public.
Focus on environmental awareness

The board is distributing printed brochures on eight topics, including solid waste management, construction and demolition waste, vehicular pollution, noise pollution regulations, bio-medical waste, e-waste and plastic waste management.
Visitors can also access the board’s publications through QR codes generated for various materials, enabling them to download and read the content digitally.
Live demonstrations and exhibits

The stall features instruments used to measure atmospheric particulate matter, including PM10 and PM2.5, along with a sound level meter to demonstrate noise monitoring techniques.
Scientific staff from the board are present at the site to explain the functioning of these instruments and respond to queries from visitors.
Standees highlighting themes such as water pollution, solid waste management, Mission LiFE and ‘No Horn Day’ have also been displayed.
The board reiterated its appeal for citizens to observe every Sunday as ‘No Horn Day’ and to avoid unnecessary honking on other days, as part of broader efforts to reduce noise pollution.
