Patna: Bihar’s Revenue Maha-Abhiyan has begun at the panchayat level, with camps offering villagers on-the-spot digital registration of land-related corrections. The campaign, which started on August 19, has drawn large crowds of farmers seeking to resolve errors in land records.
Officials said two camps will be organised in every panchayat at seven-day intervals, with monitoring at three levels to ensure smooth functioning. Departmental staff equipped with laptops and dongles are entering applications directly into the Biharbhumi portal, allowing applicants to track the progress of their cases.
The initiative provides four key services: correction of errors in jamabandi, inheritance transfer, partition transfer, and digitisation of missing jamabandi records. On the second day of the drive, villagers arrived with evidence of their claims, which were immediately processed and recorded.
The Maha-Abhiyan will continue until September 20, with the Revenue Department aiming to reach as many rural families as possible. A micro plan has been prepared for each zone, setting panchayat-wise schedules to ensure wide coverage.
Officials emphasised that the campaign brings essential services directly to villages, saving residents the need to travel to district offices and ensuring faster resolution of long-pending disputes.
