Patna: Bihar Education Department has sent a requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the recruitment of 32,388 teachers under the fourth Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4), Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Tuesday.
The recruitment will cover teaching positions from Classes 1 to 12, marking the formal movement of the TRE-4 process. The next key step will be the release of the recruitment advertisement and application schedule by the BPSC.
32,388 Posts Across Four Teaching Levels
According to the details shared by Choudhary on X, the vacancies have been distributed across four categories:
- Classes 1 to 5: 3,847 posts
- Classes 6 to 8: 8,563 posts
- Classes 9 to 10: 3,877 posts
- Classes 11 to 12: 16,101 posts
- Total: 32,388 posts
The highest number of vacancies, 16,101, has been earmarked for teachers at the higher secondary level, covering Classes 11 and 12.

CM Calls Recruitment A Step For Youth
Choudhary described the recruitment initiative as another significant opportunity for the youth of Bihar.
He said the move would contribute to the government’s objectives of improving the quality of education, creating employment opportunities for young people and supporting the development of the state.
The CM also said the state government was working continuously to expand employment opportunities and strengthen Bihar’s education system.
Aspirants Await BPSC Advertisement
With the requisition now sent to the BPSC, candidates are awaiting the Commission’s official recruitment advertisement.
The advertisement is expected to provide details on eligibility criteria, subject-wise vacancies, application dates, examination schedule and other recruitment requirements.
The BPSC’s notification will be the next official source for candidates seeking to apply under TRE-4.
