Patna: Monsoon activity is likely to continue across Bihar on July 30, with light to moderate rainfall forecast in several parts of the state, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Meteorological Centre, Patna.
Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at several places in south-west and south-central Bihar, as well as parts of north-central, eastern and north-western districts.
The weather department has issued a Yellow Alert for several districts, warning of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in many areas.
Yellow Alert In North Bihar
The alert covers parts of north-west and north-east Bihar, where light to moderate rainfall is likely at several places.
The districts under the rain forecast include West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa.
Rain may also occur at one or two places in south and central Bihar, including Patna, Gaya and Bhagalpur.
Gusty Winds And Lightning Warning
The Meteorological Centre has also warned of gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 km/h in parts of north-west and north-east Bihar.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely in these areas. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid exposed areas during lightning activity.
Temperature Outlook
Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 32°C and 36°C in north and south-west Bihar.
In south-central and south-east Bihar, maximum temperatures are likely to range between 32°C and 34°C.
