Chief Minister Inspects Schemes in Bakhtiyarpur, Orders Quick Completion

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected various ongoing schemes in Bakhtiyarpur and directed their swift completion. At Ghansurpur in Bakhtiyarpur block, he reviewed the proposed link of the Ganga Channel. Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Chaitanya Prasad, detailed the plan to connect the Ganga stream from Ghansurpur to Ramnagar via Stair Ghat, including renovation, protective works, tree plantation, and park construction.

The Chief Minister also inspected the under-construction Ganga Ghat and Pathway near Bakhtiyarpur Stair Ghat. He emphasized the importance of beautifying the ghat for convenience, recalling his childhood experiences there. Prayers were offered at Shri Radha Krishna Temple, and tributes paid at Pandit Sheelbhadra Yaji Memorial Trust. The inspection included the construction site of Ganesh High School, where he instructed officials to expedite and enhance the construction, improve the boundary wall, level the land to prevent waterlogging, and plant trees for environmental benefits.

Further, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Bakhtiyarpur Sewerage Treatment Plant, which will purify water from eight drains and benefit all 27 wards of Bakhtiyarpur Municipal Corporation. The treated water will be stored in a nearby pond, aiding in water conservation. He also inspected the railway over bridge near Bakhtiyarpur Engineering College, directing the rapid completion of this project to facilitate better connectivity and ease of movement.

Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department Chaitanya Prasad, and other senior officials were present during the inspections.
