Patna : Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Patna continue to remain unchanged at Rs84.54 per kg, maintaining a stable streak that has lasted for the past 10 months. This steady rate also remains the highest recorded in the city over the same period, highlighting the resilience of local fuel pricing mechanisms despite significant global oil market fluctuations.
The ongoing consistency in CNG pricing comes at a time when international crude oil prices have dropped sharply. Brent crude, a key global benchmark, recently fell to $64.34 per barrel, driven by weakening demand, economic slowdown concerns, and persistent trade tensions. These developments have contributed to softening energy prices globally, including in parts of India.
However, domestic fuel pricing—especially for alternative fuels like CNG—has remained largely unaffected. Industry experts point to the Reserve Bank of India’s accommodative monetary stance and the anticipation of future interest rate cuts as contributing factors to the overall market stability. These policies have helped maintain positive sentiment and keep inflation in check.
Transport operators in Patna, both public and private, have welcomed the continued stability in CNG rates, noting that it allows for better management of operational expenses. “Steady prices are a huge relief, especially for fleet operators,” said a local transport association representative.
With no immediate changes expected, consumers and commercial users alike can anticipate continued price stability in the short term, even as global energy markets remain unpredictable.
